I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee
The I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee
members are
independent citizens who are interested in the
future of the corridor and provide TxDOT with a citizen’s view of how
the corridor should be developed.
In November 2008, the Advisory Committee
issued the
Citizens’ Report on the Current and
Future Needs of the I-35 Corridor, which stated
that the existing capacity on I-35 would not be
sufficient for future mobility demands and that
more was needed.
Based on past planning efforts, it was time
for a new planning direction that started at the community level. Building on their
November 2008 report, the Advisory Committee and
the four I-35 Segment Committees were asked to
lead a citizen-directed planning effort for the
I-35 corridor.
Work has already begun by the segment
committees on this effort. After each
segment committee develops a corridor plan for
their area, the Advisory Committee will resume
meetings to
consolidate the plans into one comprehensive
mobility blueprint for the I-35 Corridor.
