  About My 35
A different approach to transportation planning

Dubbed MY 35, the citizen-planning effort is being held by the I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee and the four I-35 Segment Committees.

The focus of MY 35 is to find out what citizen's think is best for the future of the I-35 corridor. It is a different approach to transportation planning that gets local decision makers involved early. This builds on the report by the I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee which stated that more local involvement was needed in transportation planning and that the existing capacity on I-35 was not sufficient for future mobility demands.

MY 35 calls for a citizen's perspective on I-35 improvements which include identifying corridor needs, conducting public outreach, collaborating with the public and local stakeholders, and creating regional transportation blueprints.

Throughout 2010, segment committees will meet regularly to draft their plan for the future of the I-35 corridor. Then the I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee and the segment committees will meet to consolidate the plans into one mobility blueprint for the entire I-35 corridor from Gainesville to Laredo.
