Overview
This project consists of operational improvements Guadalupe River to FM 306 and 1/3 miles south of FM 306 to FM 306 in New Braunfels.
Need & Purpose
Improve safety and mobility
Project Description
Operational improvement including the widening of the frontage roads in the areas where new entrance and exit ramps are constructed from 1.3 miles south of FM 306 to FM 306. The following new ramps will be constructed under this contract.
I-35 NB Exit Ramp to FM 306
I-35 NB Entrance Ramp from Business 35
I-35 SB Exit Ramp (south of FM 306) to Business 35
I-35 SB Entrance Ramp (south of FM 306) near N. Kowald Ln.
Operational improvements at I-35 and FM 306 intersection including the construction of concrete pavement and construction of a Partial Displaced Left Turn at the south of end of the I-35 bridge.
Work will also include signal upgrades at I-35 and FM 306 and the construction of sidewalks and curb ramps at the intersection along the project limits.
Funding
Construction cost: $18.4 million
Schedule
Construction began in September 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2022.
