I-35 at RM 1431

Overview

The project included the construction of a Diverging Diamond Intersection, which is an innovative intersection to alleviate an existing bottleneck at the intersection of RM 1431 and I-35. The project also included construction of a southbound collector-distributor road, or intersection bypass lane, and ramp improvements.

  • Construction cost estimate: $6.6 million

Schedule

  • Finalized schematic and environmental documentation: April 2014
  • Begin Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E): February 2013
  • Construction letting: June 2014
  • Construction start: October 2014
  • Construction completion: May 2016
