Implementation Plan

The Mobility35 Implementation Plan, formerly known as the I-35 Capital Area Improvement Program Corridor Implementation Plan, began as a result of planning efforts beginning in 2011 with TxDOT, the city of Austin, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and other local partners. The Mobility35 Implementation Plan identifies overarching improvement concepts and a recommended program of projects and strategies aimed at enhancing mobility and safety along and across I-35 for all modes of transportation, including cars, trucks, transit, emergency vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists.

The Mobility35 Implementation Plan provides the following high-level assessment for each location-specific improvement concept:

  • Preliminary engineering to determine feasible solutions;
  • Preliminary environmental to determine notable environmental constraints;
  • Preliminary costs and timeframes; and

The Mobility35 Implementation Plan identifies recommended projects that have independent utility and, when paired with the other projects, provide cumulative benefits to the I-35 corridor. Each recommended project could be advanced independently as funding becomes available. Public input continues to be welcome on each project through public involvement activities held as part of the environmental study process, as applicable, and at any time to info@mobility35.org or on the My35 Contact Us page.
