Safe driving in Texas always pays off in fewer crashes and less wasted time on the highways, but this month (July 2017), your knowledge of safe driving habits could win you an extra prize: a trip to iHeartRADIO Music Festival in Las Vegas! Part of TxDOT's annual "Be Safe. Drive Smart." Campaign, the sweepstakes entry can be found on My35.org and consists of a four-question driver-safety quiz that participants take for a chance to win the trip, donated by iHeartRADIO.
"The My35.org quiz challenges drivers to examine their driving behaviors and prompts them to adopt safer driving habits," says TxDOT Traffic Operations Director Michael Chacon. "TxDOT does its best to ensure roads are safe, but ultimately, drivers have the responsibility to be safe and drive smart. Our own actions can save lives."
My35.org offers more than just a shot at winning a trip to Las Vegas — it contains a "loot" of handy information for drivers traveling Texas on I-35. The website provides the latest news on highway conditions, construction updates and even live traffic camera feeds. For some districts, My35.org also offers specific travel notifications that alert subscribers of lane closures or incidents on the highway. Information can be found for all cities along I-35 through Texas, not just the Waco District.
TxDOT offers a plethora of information to inform drivers and support safe driving. We recommend that drivers who frequent I-35 check the website or sign up for alerts to be better prepared for the road.
